CEF Telecom Public Open Data Call is open!
The Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) has launched a call for proposals to improve the interoperability and interconnectivity of the European digital service ecosystem. CEF Telecom funding aims to: support projects that seek to improve citizens' daily life, improve business and public administrations, and contribute to the development of a Digital Single Market by deploying European digital infrastructure across the EU. Under Connecting Europe Facility (CEF), the European Union has launched a call for proposals to improve the interoperability and interconnectivity of the European digital service ecosystem. CEF Telecom funding supports projects of common interest that improve the daily life of citizens, businesses and public administrations and contribute to the development of a Digital Single Market by deploying European digital infrastructures across the EU. WC Finder is a Swiss service to help users find toilets
WC Finder is a service in Switzerland that allows users to find the nearest public toilet. The application provides information about each public toilet available in Zürich, including the address, opening hours, tariffs, reviews and pictures of the facilities. The app also shows if the facilities are accessible by wheelchair or not. The application uses open public data in Zürich, such as geospatial data for the location of the toilets and reviews provided by the application users. Story Telling with Data (SWD) launched a holiday challenge
The Story Telling with Data (SWD) is an initiative launched by Cole Nussbaumer Knaflic to challenge and encourage people to practice and apply data visualisation and storytelling skills. SWD publishes monthly challenges at the beginning of every month and participants have a week to find data, create and share their data visualisation to compete in the challenge. HappyCow
HappyCow is a website and application founded in 1999 that allows users to find vegetarian, vegan and local plant-based restaurants and cafés around the world. The service includes search filters for stores such as bakeries, juice bars and market vendors and allows users to search for types of food ranging from American, Spanish, Indian, Mexican and Thai. Access is free of charge and users can add additional content onto the online service, such as leaving a review or uploading pictures. Outcome of the OPCW Conference in The Hague
On 19 and 20 November, the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) hosted the Conference of the States Parties (CSP) to the Chemical Weapons Convention in The Hague. The OPCW is a disarmament treaty with 193 Member States that oversees the global endeavour to permanently eliminate chemical weapons globally.
