Outcome of Aporta "Innovation with public data" Meeting 2018
On 28 November, the 8th edition of Aporta Meeting 2018 was held in Madrid carrying the slogan "Innovation with public data". The meeting was organised by the Ministry of Economy and Business, the Ministry of Territorial Policy and Public Function and the public entity Red.es and attracted more than 300 people. There were three round tables in the meeting. Each table had representatives from public bodies, start-ups and companies. The first table discussed public administration as a public data re-user. Open Data Day is an international annual event for data enthusiasts to connect and build solutions to complex social issues together with the community by using open data. Moovit is an application that allows users to view public transportation options, such as bus arrival times, maps and train schedules, around the world. The company originated in Israel and is an early pioneer of Mobility as a Service (MaaS), with the aim of simplifying urban mobility by making transportation more efficient, accessible and sustainable. AEPD announces the winners of 2018's Data
On Data Protection Day on 28 January 2019, the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD) announced the winners of the Data Protection Awards 2018. The multisectoral Information Association ASEDIE has been awarded the prize for "Good practices in privacy and personal data protection initiatives in the adaption and compliance with the European General Data Protection Regulation", for private sector companies, associations and foundations.
