Find the Northern Light with the application Iceland Aurora Alert
Iceland Aurora Alert is an application that shows users when and where the Northern Light in Iceland will be visible. The application forecasts Northern Light activities a few days in advance and shows users at which locations and at what time the Northern Light is predicted to be the strongest and most visible. In addition, users can set alerts if aurora activity is expected in a specific area and can share these alerts with others. To make accurate predictions about Northern Light visibility, the application uses metrological data from multiple sources, such as the Icelandic Meteorology

In the first half of 2019, the Belgian open data portal ( data.gov.be) added several new data sources to their portal! These new sources are: Metadata of the portal of the City of Liège on 19 February 2019, such as the ' Shop and Drive Real Time'. Roadmap for Future Research in Data-Driven Policy Making
The Big Policy Canvas consortium has published their first version of the Roadmap for Future Research Directions in Data-Driven Policy Making. This roadmap aims to define the different research and innovation directions that can be pursued by the public sector to tackle societal challenges through new data-driven policy making approaches. To achieve this aim, the roadmap will build on previous projects, such as SONNETS, CROSSOVER, CROSSROAD, eGovRTD2020, and PHS2020, because these projects adopted a policy-oriented approach that includes foresight about future directions of data-driven policy

Better travel planning with BrokenLifts.org
Via BrokenLifts.org, users can obtain real-time information about lifts that are out of order at public transport stations in Berlin. Passengers with reduced mobility highly depend on working lifts when they use public transport. Therefore, the website gives an overview of lifts that are out of service and the status of the process of fixing them. BrokenLifts.org also provides additional information on upcoming disruptions, for example, due to construction work. This allows passengers with reduced mobility to plan their travel accordingly. European Week of Regions and Cities
The European Week of Regions and Cities (EWRC) is an annual four-day event where experts, academics and officials from regions and cities' administrations from all over Europe can exchange best practices and information on regional and urban development. In addition, the event acts as a knowledge platform for official communication in relation to the development of EU cohesion policy and to raise the awareness of decision-makers about why and how regions and cities matter in EU policymaking. Working with Open Data
In June 2019, Mauro Pellegrini - founder of Ieendii and dvkwc.org - launched a survey to understand how companies use open data and what issues they face when collecting and processing data. The survey was sent to 180 companies that have developed applications by using open data in the European Union. The 180 companies were found via the EU Open Data Portal, the European Data Portal, Open Data Incubator Europe (ODINE), and the EU Datathon websites. The final report that is based on the results from the survey, draws several conclusions, namely: Most companies did not receive external funding
