The European Data Portal (EDP) conducts an annual benchmark assessment of the current state of open data in the European Union countries and Europe in general. The latest Open Data Maturity Report (2019) covered the Member States, the EFTA countries (Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland) and assessed the countries on four dimensions: Open Data Policy: development of specific policies and strategies to foster open data practice Open Data Portal: functions that enable users to interact with open data via the national portal Open Data Impact: activities to monitor and measure open data

The Open Data Hub Slovenia hosted the event “ Open Data – Digital Economy Accelerators” on 7 May 2020. The European Data Portal (EDP) was present during the event with two keynote speakers. The event focused on open data in Slovenia and Europe. There were several speakers at the event, including: An official of the Slovenian Ministry of Public Administration, the Technology Park Ljubljana and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia who provided the opening address. The British Museum has about eight million objects in its collection, half of these are portrayed in the British Museum collection database. Visitors can choose from curated collections, including desire, love, identity and death and memory, as well as those focusing on the Americas, China and Africa, which reveal the fascinating stories behind the objects. Due to the COVID-19 medical alert, the INSPIRE Conference 2020 was cancelled and the in-person event in Dubrovnik, Croatia, has been postponed to INSPIRE 2021 on 11 to 14 May 2021. Instead, the organisation team invites confirmed speakers, facilitators, and interested guests to join the special online sessions and workshops between 3 to 12 June 2020 online. The sessions and workshops are free of charge and links are open for registration. Bird is an application and a website and provides users with so-called e-scooters (as shown in the picture) that can be used after registration through the application. Bird was founded in the United States and has also expanded to dense urban areas in Europe (e.g. Paris). Users can navigate the map in the application to find the closest Bird, or e-scooter. Users can reserve a Bird up to 30 minutes in advance. To start the ride, the Bird’s QR code needs to be scanned with the application.
