Online consultation - a European Strategy for Data
In February, the European Commission (EC) launched a public online consultation to gather views on its European strategy for data. The aim of the European strategy for data is to create a genuine single market for data where personal as well as non-personal data, including sensitive business data, are secure. Thus, businesses, innovators and public authorities will have easy access to an almost infinite amount of high-quality data, boosting growth and creating value, whilst minimising the human environmental footprint. The website aims to encourage users to shape digitalisation in Switzerland by acting as a single point of access to these datasets. It is stated that the Europe Union has the ambition to “become a leading role model for a society empowered by data to make better decisions – in business and the public sector”.
