ReSPA events in June
In the second week of June, the Regional School of Public Administration (ReSPA) organises two events, of which one is focused specifically on Open Data. ReSPA is the inter-governmental organisation for enhancing regional cooperation, promoting shared learning and supporting the development of public administration in the Western Balkans. Zukunftskongress to take place in Germany
In the summer of 2013, the German government launched the conference for digital government and modernisation (' Zukunftskongress) under the auspices of the Federal Minister of the Interior. French Ministry of Transport co-creates data platform
On 29 June the French Ministry of Transport organised an Open Data 'Barcamp', in the presence of many professionals from the transport industry. During this interactive workshop, the professionals provided suggestions and feedback on the beta version of the portal transport.data.gouv.fr of the Ministry of Transport, to be launched this autumn. Representatives of transport companies, regulatory authorities and users of (public) transport gathered on 29 June to work on the specifications of the future platform for sharing transport data. Launch of Data Pitch
Data Pitch is an EU-funded open innovation programme bringing together corporate and public-sector organisations that collect and hold data with startups and SMEs that work with such data. It is centred around a competition with several tracks which describe challenges, and a virtual accelerator programme (six months) to help startups and SMEs develop solutions to meet these challenges. The 2017-2018 programme was opened for applications on 1 July. Greece makes infrastructure data available
The Greek Ministry of Digital Policy, Telecommunications and Information has embraced the principle of openness, and announced the creation of a digital infrastructure register helping public administrations, companies and citizens to get information on infrastructure and infrastructure plans. The initiative is made possible thanks to the legislation based on the EU Directive for reduction of the cost of high-speed broadband roll-out (2014/61/EU). Slovakia approves ICT standards guide
Standards are an important means to improve the interoperability of information systems. In March of this year, the Slovak government officially approved the adoption of the guideline on ICT standards, including specific Open Data definitions. The guide is an official addendum to Slovakia's 2015 Decree on ICT standards, and provides detailed instructions for public sector organisations regarding the use and procurement of ICT solutions. Organising events on Open Data is an important driver for promoting Open Data, as it helps raise awareness about the value of Open Data and brings publishers and re-users of data together. e-Forum on ICTs and Open Data in Agriculture and Nutrition
The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in partnership with the Global Data on Agriculture and Nutrition (GODAN); the Technical Centre for Agricultural and Rural Cooperation (CTA) and the World Bank are inviting interested individuals to participate in the upcoming forum discussion to be held on the e-Agriculture platform. This forum takes place from 19 June to 14 July 2017 on the e-Agriculture Platform.
