Asedie concludes their 10th International Conference

Welcome Ukraine on the European Data Portal
Ukraine has significantly improved its Open Data position in the past years, now being among the 50 most open nations, ranked 31 st in the Global Open Data Index. One force driving the progress in Ukraine is the increasing demand for Open Data answered by the national government offering over 30,000 datasets on their national Open Data portal data.go.ua. The data already has been used to successfully help implement social and commercial projects with an estimated value of hundreds of millions of euro per year. One week until INSPIRE study deadline
An EU Directive established in 2007 the Infrastructure for Spatial Information in the European Community ( INSPIRE), to promote spatial data. However, there are still conditions and limitations on the re-use of public sector spatial data, restricting information sharing for public authorities and third-parties. The hackathon " Cultural adventure on the palm" was successfully held in Ljubljana, Slovenia on 29 and 30 September 2018. Outcome of the "Open Data Hackathon 2018" in Riga, Latvia
On 28 and 29 September, Latvian State Radio and Television Tower hosted the Open Data Hackathon 2018 - an Open Data Software Development Marathon. The Hackathon consisted of 75 participants grouped into 11 teams that worked on innovative ideas based on the usage of Open Data in four sectors: transport, culture, regions, and tourism. The participants were mentored by nationally and globally recognised experts on Open Data to produce applications.
