Plume Labs: A French service showing air quality and the weather
Plume Labs is a French website and application that compares air quality and shows weather details in more than 200 cities around the world. The service aims to make environmental information accessible and to empower people to take better care of their health. For example, users can plan their activities based on the air quality and weather in their city based on the web site's hourly air pollution level estimates. School Information Map: An Irish platform
School Information Map is a free interactive Irish platform that enables users to see the location of different schools in Ireland and to explore which schools offer facilities for special educational needs. The platform is a joint initiative of the National Council for Special Education (NCSE), the Department of Education & Skills (DES), and the Ordnance Survey Ireland (OSi) and aims to support parents in selecting a school for their children. The Dutch open data portal organised a user meeting to discuss open data
On 12 April 2019, the user meeting of the Dutch Open Data Portal (data.overheid.nl) took place in The Hague, the Netherlands. The meeting was organised by the Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom relations to connect data owners, data re-users and people who are professionally or generally interested in open data to exchange their experience and ideas. Introducing ASEDIE's 7th annual report!
11 April 2019, ASEDIE published their 7th annual report (available in Spanish and English) on the Spanish Infomediary Sector and its impact on the Spanish economy. The report includes an analysis of nearly 700 companies and their position within the Spanish economy. In this report, ASEDIE found that the Spanish Infomediary Sector earned about €1.8 billion in 2017 - an increase of 5% from 2016. There are several factors contributing to the rise in revenue. EU launches a new platform for aid data
In March 2019, the European Commission launched a new user-friendly platform to access and re-use EU aid data: the EU Aid Explorer. The platform contains data about projects that are funded by the European Commission, the European Investment Bank, EU Trust Funds - such as the Emergency Trust Fund for Africa and the Regional Trust Fund in Response to the Syrian Crisis - and by all 28 EU Member States. European Parliament approves new rules on open data
On 4 April 2019, the European Parliament approved the recast of the Open Data and Public Sector Information (PSI) Directive. Thanks to this directive, public sector information and publicly funded data will become even more easily available and re-usable. This will in turn fuel the development of data-intensive technologies such as artificial intelligence. The Directive is a revision of the Public Sector Information Directive that was adopted in 2003 and revised in 2013.
