Conference: Access to and Reuse of EU Legal Information
On 21 March 2016, the Publications Office will organise a conference to highlight the access and reuse services related to EU Legal Information. In particular, this event will showcase the wide range of options offered by EUR-Lex - the gateway to law and legal information from the EU. Watch the Open Data Forum in Sweden
On 15 January, an Open Data Forum was held in Stockholm, Sweden. The aim of the forum was to discuss current Open Data trends, activities that took place and what needs to be done in the future. The forum was open for everyone with Open Data on their agenda. The meeting had a specific focus on organisations and companies working with or planning to open sources of data. Following the Open Data Day, Romania organises a full week with activities around open government. In this context a series of events are organised, ranging from debates on Open Data for smart cities to how open data can help journalism. The events are organised by the Chancellery of the Prime-Minister and the Ministry for Public Consultation and Social Dialogue in collaboration with representatives of the civil society, diplomatic and the private sector. Release of accounting data in Estonia
In 2011, all the accounting data of local governments was made available as Open Data. Since the beginning of 2016, other sectors of the central government released accounting data as well. All accounting data from the different institutions is accessible via the State Finances application. It does not only include data from central government, but from NGO-s, enterprises, foundations and social security funds as well. Two professors, Robert V. Zicari and Andrej Zwitter, published an article on the website of the Goethe University in Frankfurt entitled 'Data for Humanity: An Open Letter'. StatDCAT-AP WG Virtual Meeting
