Special Eurobarometer 200: Attitudes related to defrauding the European Union and its budget
Описание
This opinion poll has been carried out at the request of the European Anti-Fraud Office - Communication, Public Relations, Spokesman Unit and managed and organised by the Directorate-General Press and Communication ("Public Opinion Analysis" Sector). It was carried out between October 1 and November 7, 2003, in all European Union countries, on behalf of the European Opinion Research Group (EORG: a consortium of market research and public opinion agencies, made out of INRA in Belgium - I.C.O. and GfK Ad Hoc Worldwide). This report first assesses EU citizens’ awareness of fraud, tax evasion, money laundering and counterfeiting in their home country, the rest of the EU, candidate countries and then the rest of the world. Respondents were also asked to select the particular element of fraud that most concerned them. A list of illegal activities ranging from counterfeiting and pirated software to tax evasion and misappropriation of aids and grants was reviewed. Media coverage of all aspects of defrauding the European Union and its budget was discussed and respondents asked to assess how well the media kept them informed on this issue.
The results by volumes are distributed as follows:
